Fast Action Dried Yeast 56g e (8 x 7g)
Yeast (93%), Stabiliser (Calcium Sulphate), Emulsifier (Sorbitan Monostearate), Flour Treatment Agents (Ascorbic Acid, Alpha-Amylase), Salt, Wheat Flour (Wheat Flour, Calcium Carbonate, Iron, Niacin, Thiamin), Wheat Starch

- Store in a cool, dry place.
If using a bread machine, you can use the yeast direct from the sachet, adding
it to your bread pan in the order specified by the manufacturer's instructions,
keeping the yeast separate from the salt and sugar. There is no need to
pre-mix or add sugar to activate the yeast, just add directly to the recipe.
Hand baked bread
(makes 1 large loaf).
Cooking time: 30-35 minutes
Preparation time: 10-15 minutes plus resting time
750g (1 1/2 lb) Tesco Strong White/Brown Flour;
2 teaspoons salt;
25g (1oz) butter;
1 x 7g sachet Tesco Fast Action Dried Yeast;
450ml (3/4 pint) warm water (made from 1 part boiling, 1 part chilled)
1. In a large bowl mix together the flour, salt, butter and yeast. Stir in the
water and mix into a soft dough.
2. Turn onto a floured surface and knead well for 10 minutes by hand or 5
minutes in an electric mixer with a dough hook.
3. Shape the dough as required and place in a greased tin or tray. Cover with
greased polythene (a freezer bag or cling film) and leave in a warm place until
doubled in size.
4. Uncover and bake in an oven, pre-heated to 230ºC/Fan 210ºC/Gas Mark 8, for
around 30-35 minutes. Baked loaf should sound hollow when tapped underneath.
5. For a soft, moist crust, remove from the oven and wrap in a clean tea-towel
Packaged in a protective atmosphere.
