Description

A British family favourite and a potato legend. These potatoes are the most

widely grown potatoes in the UK, as they are such great all rounder's. Maris

Piper's fluffy texture delivers crispy skins and fluffy centred potatoes every

time. These are fabulously versatile, they can be used for wedges, chips,

roasts and mashed potatoes. Why not shake your favourite spice blend on your

wedges before popping them in the oven.

Other Instructions:

Deep Fry
For chips
Peel potatoes and cut into chips. Place in a bowl of water for
30 minutes then drain and dry thoroughly. Deep fry in pre-heated
oil at no more than 160°C for 10 minutes. Remove from the oil
and allow to cool slightly. Meanwhile, increase the temperature
of the oil to 190°C and place the chips back in the oil for
3–5 minutes, or until golden (no darker). Drain chips and lay on
absorbent kitchen paper to remove surface oil.

Oven
For roasts
Pre-heat oven. Put 2–4 tbsp. of vegetable oil in a roasting
tin and place in oven. Peel and cut potatoes into evenly sized
pieces and parboil for 10 minutes. Drain thoroughly removing
excess water; shake in pan to roughen the surfaces of the
potatoes. Carefully transfer the potatoes into the hot roasting tin,
turn in the oil and season. Return to the oven for 55–60 minutes,
turning occasionally until golden (no darker).

Hob
For boiled
Peel potatoes and if needed cut into evenly sized pieces. Place in
a saucepan and cover with boiling water. Return to the boil, cover
and simmer for 15–20 minutes until tender. Drain and serve.

For mash
Follow the hob instructions. After draining return to a warm hob
for 1 minute to dry. Add milk, butter and seasoning according to
preference. Mash until creamy smooth and serve.
