REGISTERED BRAND.

ESTABLISHED 1820.

LATE BOTTLED VINTAGE PORT.

BOTTLED IN 2004.

2004 INTERNATIONAL WINE CHALLENGE.

GREAT VALUE.

PORT of the YEAR.

Tasting Notes: Deep ruby colour. On the nose intense, velvety, with ripe berry fruit aromas and floral hints such as mint. On the palate showing great finesse with excellent balance and structure.

History: Graham's wines come primarily from its own Quinta dos Malvedos near Tua and Quinta das Lages in the Rio Torto. Two others, privately owned by a member of the Symington family, Quinta da Vila Velha and Quinta de Vale de Malhadas, also supply Graham with finest quality grapes. All four Quintas are among the best in the upper Douro valley. Graham's also buys grapes from selected farmers in the finest districts. Some of these farmers have been selling their grapes to Graham's for generations.

Graham's owns Quinta dos Malvedos, one of the finest vineyards in the magnificent Douro valley. The wines made here are exceptional with great structure, richness and depth. This is reflected in the style of all Graham's Ports.

Graham's is owned by the Symington family who have been Port producers since the 19th century. The vineyards and the winemaking are carefully controlled by the seven members of the family who work in the company.

Graham's Ports have been judged as being consistently outstanding through countless different tastings. Few Ports have achieved this world wide reputation.

Grape Variety

Touriga Nacional

Vinification Details

After hand harvesting the grapes are brought to the winery in baskets. Traditional techniques are used with vinification of the grapes taking place over 2-3 days. Fementation starts automatically after a few hours and continues for 24 to 36 hours until stopped by addition of grape brandy. The fortified wine is then transferred to barrel for clarification and ageing.

Regional Information

Douro is a Portuguese wine region centered around the Douro River in the Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro region. It is sometimes referred to as the Alto Douro (upper Douro), as it is located some distance upstream from Porto, sheltered by mountain ranges from coastal influence. It has very hot summers reaching well over 40 degrees celcius in August. Perfect for the indigenous grape varieties like Touriga Nacional. The region has Portugal's highest wine classification as a Denominação de Origem Controlada (DOC). While the region is associated primarily with Port wine production, the Douro also produces table wine (non-fortified wines).
