Growing Curled Parsley
- I am a living herb, please do not refrigerate me. To help keep me growing, take off my sleeve and place me on a saucer. Keep me by the window, away from cold draughts. Please keep my soil slightly moist to the touch at all times. I prefer to be watered from my roots.
Add roughly chopped parsley to brigthen up couscous
Simple Parsley Sauce: Melt 50g butter in a small pan and stir in 50g plain
flour. Cook, stirring continuously, for 1 minute, until the mixture forms a
smooth 'roux'. Remove the pan from the heat and gradually pour in 600ml milk,
stirring or whisking constantly. Return the pan to the heat and bring to the
boil, still stirring or whisking. Reduce the heat and simmer the sauce gently
for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it is smooth and thick. Stir in
fresh curled parsley and season to taste with salt and pepper. Great with
gammon or fish.
