Montagny - White French Wine.
Older Chardonnay vines, grown in the mineral rich Southern Burgundy soils of Montagny, give this wine notes of apples, spice and slight minerality. Terrific with chicken or veal in a creamy sauce, risottos or grilled Dover sole, seafood, stir-fries or goat's cheese.
At Blason we are proud to represent hundreds of vine growing families in Burgundy, many of whom have been tending their vines for generations. Our co-operative employs the expertise of these individual families, using the finest grapes to create award-winning wines, bringing you the delicious tastes of the region through the power of our collective. We are Blason - from the people for the people.

The vineyards' south easterly position and altitude protect the vines from the strong westerly winds and frosts, whilst as the same time allowing the vines to bask in the sun during the summer months. Alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The wine then ages in oak for 6 months adding some complex spice characters.
Blason de Bourgogne was developed in 2002 as a means of making the somewhat bewildering world of Burgundy wines more accessible to consumers. The range now comprises 29 wines which are sourced from all over the Burgundy region. Blason wines are high quality and good value and represent the very best of what Burgundy has to offer.
Blason’s producer of Montagny is Cave de Buxy, one of the gems of the Burgundian co-operative movement, nestled in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise. The South facing slopes give good even sun exposure to ensure good ripe grapes.
This wine can be drunk now but will further improve if carefully stored for up to 2 years
