Background
History
One of the regions longer established wineries, Highfields Tuscan inspired building sits majestically on a ridge overlooking the plains of Marlborough. The wines are made by winemakers Al, Mike and Jeremy and are crafted to reflect a sense of place.

Situated in Marlborough's Omaka valley our vineyards are planted on alluvial, free-draining soils. The cool nights and warm days provide ideal conditions for making elegant, fruit driven wines.

This review is for the 2011 vintage
We have been buying this wine for several years - ever since we first saw it in one of Tesco's supermarkets. Since then we have always bought it on line by the case, hoping against hope that Tesco keep on stocking it. So far they haven't let us down! It has an excellent balance between sweetness and sharpness and a flavour which has been enjoyed by many of our friends.

The flavours come right to your pallette fruity but not overpowering, lovely tastes of gooseberry and passion fruit .Ilove it with cheese and biscuits

This is a very smooth wine, crisp but not too dry. Definately a favourite and one to stock up with when on 'special'.
