Synopsis

Beecham House is a retirement home, but not just any retirement home; it has been specifically designed as a place where famous opera singers and musicians can spend their final days making music together. Reggie (Tom Courtenay) and Wilf (Billy Connolly) are lifelong friends and alongside Cissy (Pauline Collins) they lead a relatively peaceful, if slightly quirky existence. As the household prepares for its annual concert in honour of Giuseppe Verdi’s birthday, a surprising new resident ( Maggie Smith ) makes her appearance. Can Jean and Reggie lay old ghosts to rest in order to give one last awe-inspiring performance? Find out with your copy on DVD for an exceptionally moving look at old age.
