Synopsis

Homeland was universally welcomed as the best newcomer of the 2011-2012 TV season and, for another series that revolves around war and counterterrorism, this wasn’t a predictable success. So what’s the fresh take that makes Homeland unique? It’s certainly the personal angle that, in this series, makes the scars of war run as deep as real ones, while the mystery about the real identity of homecoming soldier, Nick Brody (Damian Lewis), keeps the viewer guessing in front of a dramatic masterpiece – a proper jigsaw puzzle. There’s indeed something intriguing about Brody’s character, a secret which CIA agent Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) stubbornly tries to unveil: has he turned into a mole from Al-Qaeda trying to seek revenge on America for the way he was left alone in prison? Or is it all in Carrie’s obsessive mind?
