The Arthur DVD is a fresh take on the legendary story which sees the familiar face of Russell Brand take on the lead role of loveable billionaire Arthur Bach with Dame Helen Mirren supporting in the role of Arthur’s nanny and lifelong friend, Hobson. Arthur is a warm-hearted, fun-seeking charmer who spends every waking hour in pursuit of amusement. Arthur’s loose cannon unpredictability however soon catches up with him and threatens his public image in addition to the reputation of his family’s heritage. Arthur is soon faced with an ultimatum: marry the gorgeous but ultimately unlovable Susan Johnson (Jennifer Garner), an ambitious corporate executive who can keep him in line; or Arthur can kiss his million-dollar inheritance goodbye. The decision is complicated somewhat when Arthur falls for likeminded Naomi (Greta Gerwig) who shares his fun-loving approach to life. Arthur is a brilliant comedy which stays true to the spirit of the 1980’s original played by Dudley Moore. A must have for your DVD collection.
