Accessibility at Tesco

If you’re wondering about the accessibility of our buildings, our recruitment processes or our careers website, look no further. Find everything you need to know, here.

Accessibility when applying for a role

We know making everyone feel welcome at Tesco takes more than just words. So, we’re committed to making sure all our candidates and colleagues have access to the support and reasonable adjustments they need to be able to thrive with us. From the moment you apply, through the recruitment process, and beyond. It’s why we’ve been named a Disability Confident Leader. And why you can be sure we’re always here to listen, and offer any help we can.

Asking for reasonable adjustments

If you have a disability, long-term health condition or neurodivergent condition, there’s plenty of support available during the recruitment process, should you need it.

On your application form, there’ll be a space to let us know about any reasonable adjustments you might need. But you can also contact us at any time to chat about how we can make the process more accessible for you. Some examples of reasonable adjustments we can make include changes to equipment, premises and furniture, altered working hours, giving or arranging training, and allowing the colleague extra time for tasks.

My Buddy, our careers website accessibility tool

While using our careers website, you can use our accessibility tool, My Buddy. It’s there to provide solutions to common accessibility needs. We’ve summarised some of the helpful things it does and how to use it, below.

How to use My Buddy

You can access My Buddy by clicking on the icon on the top left or bottom right of any page throughout the website. Once you click, a small pop-up window will appear, which can be moved around the page to a position that works for you.

From there, you can select different tools to amend the text and colour of the site, and to figure out a layout you find easiest to use.

Our advice and support partnerships

We work closely with some great organisations that provide support with employment matters for people with disabilities, long-term health conditions and neurodivergent conditions. If you’re looking for a bit more advice, check out how to contact them below.
