South Eastern Australia has a long and varied wine making history. It is one of the largest wine producing regions in the world. The varied climates around the region allow for production of many different and excellent quality wines.
Rainfall in late December and late January topped up soil moisture to retain canopy health. The start of January was very warm, but by mid-January the temperatures were in the 20°C range most days and these mild conditions persisted into the start of March. Cool and dry conditions during berry ripening were conducive to excellent flavour, colour and phenolic development.
