Expert Opinion

In the press...

“Beautifully packaged, this Chilean fizz has lively, bright pear, citrus and grapefruit notes with some ripe apple, too. It’s classy, fruity and very drinkable.”

Jamie Goode - Sunday Express 28/12/2014

"Informal, contemporary, a real winner. Cono Sur's sparkling rose is made from pinot noir grapes grown in the ralative cool of the Bio-Bio valley, and tastes of late-season raspberries and bilberries with just a lick of Refreshers. Easy and jolly, and good for parties, it's also a very smart bottle to look at."

Victoria Moore - Weekend, Daily Telegraph 21/03/2015

"From Chile, this is made from one of the three classic Champagne grapes, Pinot Noir. And because it's a red grape, it can make pink wine (it's the skins that add colour to grape juice). This one's like a sherbet fizz-bomb, with soft strawberry fruit flavours. Made by a great producer, it's properly good value for money. Very pink, perky label too."

Helen McGinn - knackeredmotherswineclub.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/carry-on-camping 03/06/2015

"I don't know anyone who doesn't like this vivacious pink fizz, with its refreshing raspberry and cranberry tang and bouncy, persistent bubbles. Great price too."

Susy Atkins - Delicious Magazine 01/12/2015

Regional info

One of the world's southernmost winegrowing regions, the Bio Bio Valley has some of the lowest temperatures during the grape ripening process and is one of the few places in Chile where irrigation is not necessary. High red clay content in the soil produces freshness and impressive minerality characteristics, ideal for aromatic whites such as Pinot Noir, Riesling and Chardonnay
