Tasting Notes

Chenin Blanc might call the Loire Valley home but it has a long history in South Africa too.

Here, top SA winemaker Adi Badenhorst has made an apple fruit-filled gem, with pea, honey and spice notes too.

Works a treat with lightly spiced foods, or with a simple roast chicken.

Storage Instructions

Expert Opinion

In the press...

Of the 2015 vintage, Matthew Jukes said: “This is another cheapie from South Africa, proving that economies of scale, a relatively inexpensive labour force and decent exchange rates mean that we are really benefiting from their wines in the UK right now. This fantastic Chenin is made by maverick wine guru Adi Badenhorst and I cannot for the life of me understand how it is such a lowly price given the depth of fruit and stylish finish. This is a consummate white all-rounder for the Christmas season.”

Matthew Jukes - The Daily Mail 11/12/2015

Of the 2015 vintage, Hamish Anderson said: “Tesco has got the superstar winemaker Adi Badenhorst to produce this, which explains why it tastes grander than its price tag might suggest. Textured with apples and wildflower honey.”

Hamish Anderson - Daily Telegraph Magazine 09/04/2016

Of the 2015 vintage, Olly Smith said: A golden delicious with subtle spice and richness. Spot-on with mild, spicy cooking and all-round great value.

Olly Smith - Mail on Sunday, Event magazine 11/09/2016
