There are over 830 Tesco stores across the country offering MoneyGram money transfer services. Tesco stores are open late weekdays and at weekends, so you can send or receive money when it suits you (excluding public holidays). And with over 350,000 agent locations worldwide, your loved ones can collect their money easily.
Send money and collect Clubcard points, too
You’ll collect Clubcard points every time you send £50 or more. Simply show your Tesco Clubcard along with your completed Send and Receive form. That way, a single transfer can bring you a little reward too. Terms apply.
How to send and collect money
It's easy to send and collect money with a MoneyGram money transfer at Tesco. Simply visit the MoneyGram service point at your chosen store – it can usually be found at the Customer Service Desk in store.
Sending and collecting cash amounts of less than £800
You’ll need to show a valid form of photo ID (your passport, UK driving licence or National Identity Card) before the transaction can be completed or the money released to the recipient.
Sending and collecting cash amounts of £800 or more
As well as showing a valid form of photo ID, you will also need to provide MoneyGram with a copy of your ID by completing these additional steps:
- Visit id.moneygram.com
- Enter your 8-digit transaction reference number, surname and email address. You’ll find the reference number on your receipt.
- Confirm your form of ID and follow the on-screen prompts. You’ll need to take a photo of your ID which you can also upload from your PC.
- You’re done! You’ll receive an on-screen message from MoneyGram confirming that your ID has been uploaded successfully.
Please note, transactions will be on hold until this process is complete. You will need to have an email address to complete this step.
Please note that the maximum send value is £4,999 and maximum receive value is £1,000 although these values can differ in certain countries. A word about fraud

It depends on how much you want to send, and the foreign exchange rate on the day you are sending money. We will always explain the fees before we send your money. - How quickly does my money arrive?
When you send cash, money typically arrives in minutes*. Account deposits take a little longer due to bank processing times.

- Who can I send money to?
You can use MoneyGram® to send money to anyone who is abroad. Our customers find it useful to send money to friends and family. Never send money to someone you don't know.
The person receiving the money will need to show proof of their identity (for example, a passport or driver's licence).
- Do I need proof of my identity?
Yes – You’ll need to show a valid form of photo ID (your passport, UK driving licence or National Identity Card) before sending and collecting money. If you’re sending or collecting cash amounts of £800 or more, as well as showing ID, you’ll also need to provide MoneyGram with a copy of your ID.
