Best cake ever
This cake is amazing!! Please can you bring it back. Thank you
Far too sweet!
The cake was overly sweet and had a chemical apple taste. Less than 1/3 of the cake was eaten by 3 adults, the rest went in the bin. Really disappointed.
This is a really lovely cake can't get enough
Indulgent, creamiest, tastiest toffee cake ever...
This is the most indulgent, creamiest, tastiest toffee / caramel flavoured cake ever. But I have only given it 4 stars because I can't taste the apples at all. I love apple cake - the best recipe I have found for generous portions of apple, as well as raisins (although I prefer sultanas), is the famous German Friendship cake otherwise known as the Herman cake.
Absolutely gorgeous cake!
Good value for money. I recommend it to people like me who have a sweet tooth,
Where's the apple?! What a very sad experience...
DIDN'T remotely resemble ANY kind of apple cake I've ever had before. DEEPLY disappointingly bad! More damp than moist, almost under cooked, and DEFINATELY overloaded with sugars and toffees... what an absolutely total waste of money. Threw 5/6th of it into the bin that evening (it was that much of a terribly bad mess of cake flavours). 1/6th of the cake made me feel vaguely ill from the sugar and whatever it combined as tastes. As a tea time treat for approximately a weeks worth of tea times, it was an inedible confusing taste mess of a mouthful.. Tesco cakes are usually lovely things, last well in the freezer for a month if no one feels like cake, or a visitor can't make it. In fact all the other Tesco Finest cakes I've tried are delightful, I love cake, especially fruit cakes or plain cakes - I've tried most in the range - carrot cake can't fault it, Victoria sponge, lovely, chocolate - both lovely... this one went straight into the bin as I had no way of returning it - it arrived on a delivery to my home by Tesco's, and there isn't a returns policy to the drivers on the next delivery. I love apple cake, apple cake is one of my all time favourites - Traditionally freezes well, lasts well, the sugar crumb topping is always a delightful crunchy contrast and the apple pieces when you come across them in a mouthful are lovely... shame NONE OF THAT was in THIS cake AT ALL... I would remove 'apple' from the title of this cake, whatever apple was in this cake was overpowered by everything else. Next time, please half the sugar and toffee and triple the apple - old fashioned apple varieties work the best in cakes like this... And loose the sickly frosting if at all possible, the brown sugar crystals on the top of an apple cake should be all that is required (along with a crumb if you like that) should balance the sharpness of the apples (dried & fresh) and compliment it... Sultanas are a total plus, too. What a TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY & very sad experience.
Fantastic cake! Tastes like toffee apples, moist , nice cream icing
