Great dairy-free/vegan alternative to butter
I was a stickler for high quality butter before giving up dairy/going vegan, and have worked my way through quite a few dairy-free spreads since. This one is a good deal better than most, with a similar taste to (what I remember of) a very lightly salted butter. Great on a bagel, and also good for home baking.

Buttery and easy to spread
Review from unilever.com
This spread tastes quite buttery which is a lovely taste and it's easy to spread straight from the fridge which is great. You definitely wouldn't know it is dairy free. My son (who is allergic to milk) loves it on bread, especially French stick! It can also be used in baking and tastes great in cakes. It's nice to know it's free from preservatives, artificial colours and flavours so is healthy too, awesome! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Flora dairy free spread
Review from unilever.com
I have been using flora dairy free spread for a few weeks now. The spread smells like the old margarines which makes me think of my grandmother as she used margarine in cooking and sandwiches. It's not an offensive smell and tastes fine in a sandwich etc. This dairy free spread I think, is as good, if not better tasting than other dairy free spreads on the market. It could definitely replace your normal spread if you're lactose intolerant or vegan/turning vegan. I'd recommend this product and I've almost finished my first tub after using it in baking, sandwiches and melting it on new potatoes. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
A good all rounder
Review from unilever.com
The main issue I had with this spread was finding it! I had to go to 4 different stores, it may just be more accessible in other areas depending on demographics. I can only directly compare this with my current dairy free brand that I have been using for 2 years. Its paler in color and has a higher fat and carbohydrate of which sugars content. There are no negatives as such, I used it on sandwiches, toast and for frying and it was fine however I would not swap from my current brand. Its nice to see the choice of dairy free products expanding. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Finally a great vegan spread!

Thankyou Flora for making a vegan butter and using your retail influence and known brand name in helping make something so readily available and ‘normal’ to consumers. Having been buying vegan products including dairy free butter for the past year, it’s a sigh of relief to see these products become more popular and known brands jumping on the bandwagon and creating their own delicious recipes! Especially with trends such as veganaury being so popular. Most of the time you’re searching through the fridges of the supermarkets to find one or two unknown brands of dairy free butter hidden away. The packing often ominous in what its offering which requires careful reading for the word ‘vegan’ on the busy packaging or checking the ingredients yourself; but not with this one! The words vegan and dairy free clearly visible next to the well-recognised Flora brand name with a simple green packaging which gives it a ‘healthy’ feel and look. The dairy free spread is similar in colour and texture to other spreads, I have found others tend to be too firm to spread on softer bread and often tears holes as you try to spread it, but this is easy to spread on any item, whether toasted or plain. The taste isn’t the same as butter, obviously that’s to be expected as it ISN’T butter but it’s delicious none the less. It has a soft and creamy texture, without the greasy ‘buttery’ feel you can have with other products, often leaving an artificial taste in your mouth afterwards. I’ve so far used it as a spread on breakfast items and in baked goods, but the most impressive test for me was using it to fry with, it had no issues with being heated at a high temperature and coated my mushrooms really well, giving off a lovely buttery smell. My prayers have been answered!!
Review from unilever.com
Finally!!!!! A vegan spread that actually tastes great! Not greasy, not oily! Just buttery goodness! Not only can I spread this on my toast and crumpets 100% guilt free, it can be used in all your favourite baking recipes without leaving a horrible residue unlike some other spreads I have tried in the past. Cupcakes, muffins, brownies, all taste great! This is not a product that can only be enjoyed by vegans and the lactose intolerant, Flora Dairy Free can be enjoyed by all. My partner who doesn’t follow the same diet also thought this tasted great, So I can now make space in the fridge instead of having two different tubs! A little expensive compared to conventional butter but a little goes a long way when you’re saving the planet! Must try! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Definite winner but took a while.
Review from unilever.com
It took me a while to get used to the Flora Dairy Free spread . It looks like norml spread , spreads the same as normal spread but didn't taste like normal spread. As a person who is lactose intolerant I am used to the 'unusual' taste of dairy free , my family were not and struggled with the after taste, but quickly came round and didn't notice at all when I used it in cooking and baking (so that's a big bonus.) The spread melts really well into hot toast. so overall I would definitely recommend to people but would say bre with it . [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
