  • Perfectly intense and balanced Extra Mature Cheddar with a firm, flinty texture; typically matured for 18 months
  • The perfect all round cheddar; raising the everyday meal to a new level, delivering joy on a cheeseboard, or simply to be savoured with your favourite crackers and a glass of full bodied red wine.
  • Designed to deliver a slightly crunchy texture; this is due to the formation of naturally occurring calcium lactate crystals which are found in high quality aged cheddars. These appear as white flecks, developing further as the cheese matures, enhancing both the character and the mouthfeel of the cheese.
  • Davidstow film is not currently recyclable by local authorities, but we're working on it. In the meantime, please recycle your cheese film packaging through Terracycle®'s alternative recycling solution.
  • Davidstow Cheddar is made with exacting care at our multi-award winning creamery in the Cornish village of the same name. Absolutely loved this cheese and well worth the extra money, I won't be wasting it on cooking and can't resist the little crumbly bits, ideal on its own and with whatever biscuits I favour. Lovely with some nice tomatoes.

About the best STRONG cheese going at present. I always had "Seriously Strong" but that's hard to see now! This is tasty and not really crumbly. I love it in a toastie with loads of sliced green finger chillies! It tastes better than a lot of "vintage" cheeses do! Getting through a block every week ½ now - oh yes!
