Preparation and Usage

  • Remove outer packaging and remove ribbon before cutting. Place cake on a flat surface. Hold the cake and with a long clean serrated sharp knife, cut the cake into slices using a sawing action. It is important to keep the knife clean between slices.

Contains whole nuts - fine if you like them!

This cake would have been nice, however the description fails to mention that the cake contains a large amount of whole nuts. I wasn't necessarily expecting the cake to be nut free, but not have so many whole ones given no mention of them. Sadly for us, due to this it was a waste of money.

BOUGHT THIS CAKE LAST YEAR 2020. WOULD NOT CUT A AS IT WAS STICKY AND UNCOOKED. IT WAS LIKE UNCOOKED PUDDING.

Cake was wet and claggy with sickly sweet icing. Left to air for 3 days and it dried out a little. Very small..about 6"..it would cut to 6, possibly 8, portions. One to avoid sadly

After reading the other, negative review, I can only conclude that this customer must have bought a rare "rogue" product....I too buy this cake every year and rate it as far and away the tastiest Christmas cake my taste buds have ever been set loose upon....this year's cake being no exception! It's so fruity, moist and "boozy"...quite a pronounced flavour of the cognac....the icing and marzipan just the right texture.. Scrumptious-on-Stilts in fact🤣....As Craig Revel Horwood might say "Dee-lish-us!" Well done Tesco! 6 star cake! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Disappointed this year

I buy this cake every year but this year am most disappointed, it is so hard to cut, the cake itself is very dense and dry and the icing tastes like a block of sugar. Unfortunately I have purchased 5 in total as some were for presents which I am now loathe to give.
