The Nintendo Switch is the new home gaming system that offers unique versatility and exciting new gameplay. Launching on 7th April 2017, it's already caused a stir for its unusual design, comprising of a tablet touchscreen, two Joy-Con controllers and a charging dock. Gameplay is designed to be completely immersive on the Nintendo Switch console, with the HD 6.2 tablet screen offering up to 60 frames per second in a compact package. When played on a television screen, the graphics are equally stunning on a larger space. In hand, the Joy-Con controllers engage with the player, with a realistic rumble function to mirror the action on screen. They also are capable of sensing shapes made by hands, as well as external movement and distance for optimal motion control.
Try three different gameplay modes
Discover the various modes of the Nintendo Switch console, comprising of classic TV mode, tabletop mode and handheld mode. TV mode is activated by resting the Switch in a connected docking station, whilst the Joy-Con controllers connect wirelessly for multiplayer and solo gameplay. For single player gaming, they also be slipped into a Joy-Con grip accessory to mirror a more traditional controller.
To enjoy tabletop mode, the screen features a built-in stand that enables it to be propped up easily. The Joy-Con controllers can then be detached for co-operative or solo gaming. Finally, handheld mode combines the three main components, with the two Joy-Con controllers secured on either side of the tablet screen, creating a compact handheld console that you can take wherever you go.
Enjoy hours of gaming and versatile charging
The Nintendo Switch has the most versatile charging features of all Nintendo consoles so far. The main tablet screen comes with its own dock, which connects to a television and simultaneously charges the Switch console. When taken out as a fully charged portable console, it offers between 2.5 and 6.5 hours of battery life. If the battery should run out after that time, the Switch also features a USB type-C port, a common charge cable that allows easy connection to mains power or portable battery packs.
