About us

It was through a child-like obsession for Scalextric that Jadlam Racing Models was born. You might call us overgrown kids, but we've lost countless evenings racing, desperately trying to shave off that extra tenth of a second.
We opened our Jadlam Racing Models eBay shop in 2005 in a small space above a Bicycle shop in Glastonbury, Somerset. We kept our prices low by splitting large Scalextric sets into custom kits, and by listening to the discerning demands of our customers.

During our second year of trading we won eBay's coveted ''Fastest Growing UK Business'' award. Delighted with our achievements, we expanded our premises and also expanded our product base, by offering the latest from Hornby, Brio and Britain's Die Cast Models.

In April 2008, with the help of our loyal and ever-increasing customer base, we moved our whole operation a few miles down the road to its current home in the idyllic city of Wells. The extra space in our new headquarters allowed us to stock Airfix, Corgi, Sylvanian Families, Meccano and Playmobil toys.

Later in 2008, we also launched jadlamracingmodels.com and started selling through Amazon, but our eBay Store continued from strength to strength: by 2009, we achieved No.1 Status on ebay for Toys and Games sold. Not bad for a child-like obsession.

We currently trade on eBay, Amazon, TESCO, Rakuten, Flubit and through our Website, jadlamracingmodels.com. Since our humble beginnings in 2005, we have supplied toys all over the world, we have kept our customers happy - over 475,000 positive feedbacks on eBay are a testament to this. We've been welcoming some customers back again and again since the day we opened, so we must be doing something right.

Of course, we appreciate that we are nothing without you, the customer, and nothing is more important to us than your satisfaction. Please be aware that charges and timings will vary for delivery to Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Isles of Scilly, Orkney, Shetland and other Scottish islands with deliveries taking up to 8 days for outlying areas. The actual delivery cost and timings will be displayed during checkout.

We dispatch our items from Monday to Friday using the following couriers: Royal Mail and DPD.

Delivery locations and exceptions

We ship to all areas of the UK. For outlying areas we will try to deliver to the timeframes above, but there may be some occasions when there might be a delay. In these circumstances we will contact you to let you know and keep you updated at all times.

Requirements to sign for delivery

Some of our items require a signature; we will let you know about those that do so that you can arrange to be available for delivery.

Missed delivery

If we try to deliver and you are not available our courier will leave a calling card to advise you about what to do next. This will detail how many further delivery attempts we will make before the items are returned to us and you may be able to pick up your item from your local depot if this is more convenient. If you would like us to help rearrange your delivery, please let us know.

Returns & Cancellation Policy

Changed your mind?

That’s no problem. All of our Tesco Partners offer the same Tesco direct policy as a minimum, the full details of which can be found on our Returns Policy page.

Charges for returns

If you change your mind and wish to return your item you will need to pay for the cost of return. Of course, if the item you have received is damaged or faulty, we will cover the cost of the return.

Most of our items can be returned by standard post. For those that can't we estimate the cost of return for smaller items to be £3 and for larger items to be £6.

Returns guidelines

Please let us have any tabs, labels and accessories, and please package it all securely. If you’re returning an item because you’ve changed your mind, there may be a deduction from your refund if it has been damaged, opened more than necessary to check it’s working, or used more than reasonably expected.

Is your purchase faulty or damaged?

We do our best to make sure everything works perfectly, but if it doesn’t, please contact us.  Within the first 30 days we will issue a refund or replacement item to you.  Outside of the first 30 days we will be able to advise on the options to repair, replace or refund your item.
