About us

Howleys Toys was originally set up as a family business in Weymouth, Dorset back in the early 1980s and we have gone from strength to strength to grow throughout the years.

We have over 30 years knowledge of the retail industry and are always up to date with the latest releases and crazes. Our growing online and high street stores have become a goldmine for all the latest toys, collectables, models and outdoor entertainment.

Taking together our expert product knowledge and excellent customer service team, we are a favourite destination both on online and in store.

With the recent expansion of our Preschool Store, we now stock a wonderful variety of brands and products suited to all age groups. Here are a few of the brilliant ranges to be found at Howleys: Airfix, Nerf, Casdon, Barbie, Fisher Price, VTech, Lego, Playmobil, Thomas and Friends, Bestway, Intex and more!

Our main store in Weymouth is bigger than ever and is still expanding, having recently taken over the old Shoefayre store in Great George Street. This is now a fantastic Preschool Shop bursting with products for ages 0-3. Our Store in Dorchester is also packed full of special offers and fantastic products, it’s a proper 'Old School' toyshop in the heart of the county town.

Please be aware that charges and timings will vary for delivery to Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Isles of Scilly, Orkney, Shetland and other Scottish islands with deliveries taking up to 8 days for outlying areas. The actual delivery cost and timings will be displayed during checkout.

Orders are dispatched using UK Mail or Royal Mail. Orders placed before 1pm Monday-Friday (excluding bank holidays and public holidays) will be dispatched the same day. This is providing that the goods are in stock and available to dispatch.

If you place your order after 1pm Monday-Friday we will dispatch your order the next working day. If your order is placed at the weekend the goods will packaged ready to be dispatched on the next working day.

Requirements to sign for delivery

All deliveries will require a signature. You may wish to have your item delivered to your work address if you are not likely to be home to accept the delivery. On some occasions the courier may leave with a neighbour or in a safe place but the buyer must accept responsibility for this after driver has left.

Missed delivery

If you are unavailable to accept a delivery the courier will re attempt the following day. If you are unavailable for a Royal Mail delivery you may need to collect your item from your local post office or Royal Mail sorting office.

Returns & Cancellation Policy

Changed your mind?

That’s no problem. All of our Tesco Partners offer the same Tesco direct policy as a minimum, the full details of which can be found on our Returns Policy page.

Charges for returns

If an item is delivered faulty then this can be returned using our prepaid returns label. Should you wish to return a product due to change of mind then this must be returned at buyers expense.

Most of out items can be returned by Royal Mail. In the event that an item has to be returned by courier, the estimated cost for this is £10.

Returns guidelines

Please let us have any tabs, labels and accessories, and please package it all securely. If you’re returning an item because you’ve changed your mind, there may be a deduction from your refund if it has been damaged, opened more than necessary to check it’s working, or used more than reasonably expected.

You can return an item by sending it to Howleys Toymaster, 5 Frederick Place, Weymouth, Dorset, DT$ 8HQ. Please enclosed your cantact details and order number.

Is your purchase faulty or damaged?

We do our best to make sure everything works perfectly, but if it doesn’t, please contact us.  Within the first 30 days we will issue a refund or replacement item to you.  Outside of the first 30 days we will be able to advise on the options to repair, replace or refund your item.

Certain suppliers offer dedicated aftersales support centres for resolve any issues. If this is the caes you will be advised by Howleys team of this when you report a problem
