Holiday Hints A Postcard From...

From beach holidays in Santorini to city breaks in Dubrovnik, take the stress out of holiday packing with our guide to your suitcase essentials for this year's hottest holiday destinations.

Swimwear in Santorini

PACKING TIPS:

Pack as much swimwear as you can – it takes up minimal space and, unlike the heels you’ll never wear, you won’t regret having an extra bikini for variety.

Build the rest of your wardrobe around a versatile maxi dress. Wear in the evenings when you arrive then to the beach towards the end of your holiday.

Keep your everyday style in mind. Bold colours look great in the sun but if you usually stick to black at home, chances are you'll feel comfortable with it on holiday too.

TRAVEL GUIDE:
SANTORINI

With its blue domed churches and whitewashed houses, Santorini is everything you’d expect from a traditional Greek island. The capital Fira is perfect for poolside lounging and sampling the island’s cuisine, while smaller Oia is famed for its spectacular sunsets. Venture outside of the towns for dramatic dark sand beaches, harking back to the island’s volcanic past.

HATS IN HAWAII

PACKING TIPS

Foldable hats make awkward packing a thing of the past. Simply fold the hat and hide fiddly accessories in the middle.

Brightly coloured swimwear in sporty shapes is essential for beach activities, as are simple pumps for island exploring.

Tropical inspired prints are ideal for the beach and the bar, while denim shorts and crochet tees are suited to more active days.

TRAVEL GUIDE:
HAWAII

A paradise of palm trees, Hawaii is ideal for an action packed holiday. A favourite with surfers and fans of stand up paddle boarding, the clear waters are also home to beautiful coral reefs to snorkel around. Over on dry land, Hawaii’s extensive trails feature waterfalls, volcanoes and spectacular lookouts.

DRESSES IN DUBROVNIK

PACKING TIPS

Look to throw on and go dresses for space saving all-in-one outfits. Lace and crinkle fabrics can be rolled up easily and are less likely to crease.

Switch between on-trend slip dresses and off the shoulder styles to slip seamlessly between day and evening.

Comfortable sandals are key for a day spent wandering city streets. A cross-body bag with enough room for sun cream and essentials will see you through from day to night.

TRAVEL GUIDE:
DUBROVNIK

A Unesco world heritage site, Dubrovnik’s old town is a tourist hotspot. Spend your days walking along the city walls and through the winding pedestrian-only alleyways. A vast array of restaurants and cafés are nestled down these streets – sample a few before settling on a favourite. Visit in September or October to take advantage of the warm days outside of peak season.
