Tesco Stores Limited – indoor furniture guarantee

All goods are guaranteed against faulty materials and workmanship for a maximum period of 10 years from the date of delivery.

1. Terms and conditions

1.1 This agreement applies only to Tesco brand indoor furniture.

1.2 This does not affect your statutory rights.

1.3 If you participated in a linked saving offer (e.g. buy a bed for £400 and get a mattress worth £150 free), you must return both items to get a full refund, if offered. If you only return the bed in the example above, you will be refunded only £250 to cover the price of the mattress as you no longer qualify for the offer. If you participated in a multibuy offer (e.g. buy 3 for the price of 2) and return part of this order, then you will have the saving deducted from your refund as you no longer qualify for the offer.

2. What is provided?

2.1 A without charge repair service (up to a maximum cost equal to the original purchase price paid for the product), in the event of a manufacturing failure of the goods not related to normal wear and tear usage.

2.2 All repairs are provided by Tesco Stores Limited and their approved repair agents.

2.3 If we, at our sole discretion, decide your product cannot be repaired or is uneconomical to repair, we will replace it with the same product. Should that product no longer be available, we will provide an alternative product of equivalent specification or make a monetary allowance equivalent to the original purchase price of the product (excluding delivery charges).

3. What is not covered?

3.1 Non-domestic use, excessive soiling or unsanitary condition.

3.2 Deliberate damage or misuse including failure to follow manufacturer’s instructions.

3.3 Accidental damage.

3.4 Incorrect or faulty installation or assembly. (If the installation or assembly is carried out by Tesco or its approved representatives, you will still be covered.)

3.5 Damage due to weather such as lightning, flooding and high winds.

3.6 Normal ageing or wear and tear including mattress settlement and “dipping”.

3.7 Work for which the manufacturer has recalled the product.

3.8 Loss of or damage to accessories.

3.9 Noises caused by the use of the product, e.g. creaking.

3.10 Damage caused by foreign objects or substances not normally associated with the product.

3.11 Repairs carried out by persons not authorised by us or without prior approval.

3.12 Any routine maintenance, cleaning, realignment, modification, installation, or transit.

3.13 Any loss suffered as a result of not being able to use the product, or any loss other than the repair and/or replacement cost of the product.

3.14 The expense of a service call when no fault has been found with the product.

4. Limitations

4.1 The services will be provided for products bought and used in addresses within England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

4.2 This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England, and each party hereby submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

4.3 This agreement is non-transferable.

4.4 If, in accordance with Clause 2.3, payment is made because the product is considered uneconomical or not possible to repair, the guarantee and all rights therein terminate, and we retain the right to take possession of the product and dispose of it.

4.5 If, in accordance with Clause 2.3, replacement is made because the product is considered uneconomical or not possible to repair, the guarantee is not renewed but continues to run for the remainder of the 10-year period, and we retain the right to take possession of the replaced product and dispose of it.
