Role play (RPG)
Fire Emblem: Awakening for the Nintendo 3DS is an epic, battle-filled game, reliant on turn-based strategy. Knowledge of your character’s abilities is crucial to triumph in victory. Create your own character, adjusting their appearance and attire for enemies to fear.
In a world where dragons used to rule the world, good and evil clashed. The ancient Grima was a destroyer of humans, who was sealed-away, many years ago by Naga – the protector of mankind. Your character awakes with no trace of any memory, found by Prince Chrom from the Halidom of Ylisse and the Shepherds.
A rumour has spread across the land of a warrior who wields a second Falchion that is unknown to existence. A growing number of Naga worshippers are being noticed, causing concern to Prince Chrom. Together, the prince and your character embark on a quest to discover a connection between the two mysteries that leads to an eruption of conflict that you’re now a part of.
Command your army along a grid-shaped battlefield and devise a plan of attack, accounting for warrior classes, weapons and terrains. There are 3 difficulty levels to choose from and 2 play modes: Casual allowing fallen units to respawn and Classic, where characters remain dead.
When 2 characters separately excel with different attack-types, selecting the Pair Up option allows both characters to share a space on the grid, launching attacks together. The bond between your team’s characters effect how they fight together, Pairing Up characters for fights and conversations can help improve their bond together.
Through battles and general game play, you can level-up your character, learning new skills, special attacks and even strengthen allies. Only a limited number of skills can be equipped at once, so chose your combinations to suit your character’s fighting-style wisely. Either advance your character’s class or else change it entirely; once level 10 has been reached, they will return to level 1, however their skills learned will be retained.
Join forces with your friends to fight in Double Duel co-op mode, selecting 3 characters each to fight in a tournament-style battle. Both you and your friend require a copy of the game and a Nintendo 3DS for this feature.
StreetPass communication allows you to exchange up to 10 characters, including your own My Unit. Scout opposing StreetPass team leaders to turn them into allies, purchase items from them or challenge them to battle.
