About us

History

Appliances Direct is the specialist white goods division of the BuyItDirect Group, with an annual turnover in excess of £110m. This is a long way from the humble beginnings back in 2002 in West Yorkshire, where we first began serving the local people of Huddersfield with the best prices and customer service.

We then built our foundations on these core principles to get to where we are today, always putting the customer at the centre of what we do, ensuring they have a stress-free shopping experience. With three large distribution centres around the UK, holding many items in stock, we're able to handle and ship orders quickly and efficiently.

Working with the top brands to give our customers a huge range of the best products at the lowest prices, we've become one of the most trusted and highly regarded online appliances retailers in the whole of the UK.

Delivery

We work with a number of reputable couriers who are able to reach most parts of the country for a smooth, stress free transfer of your new appliance. For large appliances our friendly delivery providers will give you a handy delivery time slot the night before your delivery is due so you don’t have to wait around all day.

No Quibble Returns

We understand that sometimes not everything goes to plan and we want to make sure you’re 100% happy, so we have adopted a no quibble returns policy. You have a 28 days to return any item to us for any reason. If you have a problem with any part of your order, let us know straight away and we’ll do our very best to help out and ensure you’re left feeling satisfied.

Please be aware that charges and timings will vary for delivery to Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Isles of Scilly, Orkney, Shetland and other Scottish islands with deliveries taking up to 8 days for outlying areas. The actual delivery cost and timings will be displayed during checkout.

Next day delivery is only available on two-man delivery appliances.

All customers will receive e-mail updates about the status of their order every step of the way. You'll even be given a courier tracking link (where possible) to find out specifically where your item is in the delivery chain.

In the rare case an item is out of stock , we will contact you as soon as we have delivery details from the manufacturer so you can choose a convenient delivery date.

Connection, Disconnections & Recycling

We can also take away your old appliance with our recycling collection service which we offer on all our appliances! Appliances Direct also offer a wet connection service on freestanding washing machines and dishwashers. We can disconnect your old appliance as well as connect the new appliance to the existing point and testing the unit works correctly and even remove all packaging.

Delivery locations and exceptions

Requirements to sign for delivery

For most appliances we use two-man delivery teams to ensure that your goods arrive safely. As part of this high quality service our drivers will deliver your new appliance into your home, unpack it, allow you time to check for any damage before asking you to sign for the goods and then take all the packaging away with them. Deliveries can take place from 7am till 8pm.

Missed delivery

We understand that sometimes you will not be available to receive your goods. For small appliances our couriers will attempt redelivery once.

Changed your mind?

That’s no problem. All of our Tesco Partners offer the same Tesco direct policy as a minimum, the full details of which can be found on our Returns Policy page.

You are responsible for the cost of sending back the goods

Charges for returns

We can arrange a collection on your behalf, below is an indication of the likely costs (prices will vary dependent on the product):

Large kitchen appliances: laundry & dishwashers, refrigeration, cookers - £60

Very Large kitchen appliances: Range Cookers, Side by side Fridges etc. - £99

Air conditioning units, Commercial dehumidifiers - £40

Small appliances: kettles, toasters, irons, domestic dehumidifiers, other small accessories etc. - £20

Returns guidelines

Please let us have any tabs, labels and accessories, and please package it all securely. If you’re returning an item because you’ve changed your mind, there may be a deduction from your refund if it has been damaged, opened more than necessary to check it’s working, or used more than reasonably expected.

We are not responsible for damage caused during the return journey.

To speed up the identification of your product return the returns reference (RMA Number) must be clearly highlighted on the outside of the package, in such a way that it does not damage the original product. Product returned without an authorisation number will require identification from all sales of the product, this can add further time and delays in processing the return as refunds can't be made until we are sure the correct invoice has been identified for the product.

Is your purchase faulty or damaged?

Damaged Items: To arrange an exchange or return please contact Customer Services using the details on Contact Us Page.

Faulty Items: Within 30 days of receipt of the goods you will be offered a full refund, thereafter you may be offered a repair, replacement or partial refund depending on the product and usage. In addition to the above, Tesco Direct guarantees it's electrical & furniture items for 1 year, your statutory rights are not affected.
