This just cannot be beaten for value, even at it's full price. I have tried just about every Champagne going and visited the region tasting and this is my house staple.
Plums and dark cherries but not overpowering on the nose. Plummy with cherries and liquorice on the palate. Delightful with Tomato/meaty/chorizo type dishes.
Had hoped to save this for Christmas but my Rioja-loving husband spotted it and thought we should check it was OK. It was lovely, very full-bodied and so spicy it was reminiscent of mulled wine.
(Caveat - I know what I like more than what I'm talking about) We always have a NZ Marlborough Estate Sauv Blanc in the fridge as it is my wife's favourite evening tipple.
This is an excellent wine. It tastes of rich berry fruits and is extremely smooth on the palette. It works just as well served with red meats as rich pasta dishes, but can also be enjoyed on its own or with a spot of cheese.
This wine has small bubbles often a characteristic of good champagne ( but not always ) straw coloured with a biscuit flavour and best drunk not too chilled to allow the flavour to reach a maximum.
A little research will confirm it is indeed a first rate sherry and remains an absolute bargain not just in the sherry world but also in table wine in general.
As a good Chablis this wine bears all the attributes of dryness, full citrus flavour and delightful lingering finish. To drink with any food of choice.
This was a great price for a quality white wine. Very smooth with a mellow taste that lingers on the palate. Literally makes a refreshing change from Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio.
I have tried lots of Prosecco at different prices over the last few years and I think this is the favourite for me and my friends. It's really easy drinking (too easy!)
I was doubtful of the claims for this wine, but after sampling this delectable Shiraz I thought , yes, this is my wine. It is lovely. Full of flavour, body and a long lasting taste.
Cotes du Rhone with the additional tag of 'Villages' is always a step up from the generic reds of the region. This one is a very fine example of the style. It has a floral aroma which meets the nose on first raising the glass
This is a good example of a very interesting grape - its got lots of juicy black fruit to it with some nice spiciness. Not as jammy as most Zinfandel I have tasted - it's a bit more elegant for it.
This wine is very good. It has crisp sharp citrus flavours which compliment seafood and salads perfectly. It follows the tradition of fine Alsace wines.
I'm a Malbec fan anyway but find this one particularly smooth and drinkable and not too heavy. Lovely with red meats etc but also good for drinking on its own.
An excellent Pinot Grigio, Very crisp and light. I found it too easy to drink. Would be worth buying whilst on offer to drink in the garden on a hot sunny day.
When I first tried this wine it was a revelation that I hadn't experienced before. I simply didn't realise this depth of taste was possible. It's not cheap but it is perfection!
Beautifully flavoured and smooth to the taste. A typical Fleurie, light, flavoursome and easy to drink any time not only with food.
The well balanced structure and the dried raisin character makes it one of my favourites. This wine also has a fantastic story behind it and brings the four corners of Italian together harmoniously in a bottle!
Forget about Sauvignon blanc and ordering New Zealand wine, here comes a fruity little number from The south of France!
