Not only is Pomerol the smallest wine producing area of Bordeaux but it is also the most exclusive, supplying some of the world's most expensive wines.
This sumptuous, elegant example is deep red in colour with magnificent aromas of black fruits and vanilla.
An intensely concentrated, generously flavoured Claret with a long-lasting aftertaste

This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 5 years
Referenced since the 14th century, this vineyard is the result of the division of Château Mazeyres into lots. Owned by Clément Fayat, it has benefited from a large-scale investment programme since it was taken over with the aim of enhancing its excellent quality potential. The surface area of the vineyards is 9.5 hectares with a density of 6000 vine-plants/hectare. The average age of the vines are more than 40 years with more than a half unindentified.
Jean-Luc Thunevin
Situated on the right bank of the Gironde, just north-west of St. Emilion, Pomerol is the smallest of the Bordeaux regions. Unlike other appellations, it has no formal system of classification. Nonetheless, the wines command some of the highest of all prices – Indeed, Pomerol is home to the famous Chateau Petrus, one of the most expensive wines in the world. Merlot is the dominant grape here which, together with the vein of iron rich clay running through the soil, helps to give the wines a uniquely rich and smooth character. Although they often more approachable at an early age, they are equally capable of great longevity
