An inspired blend of Montepulciano grapes from Abruzzo, Primitivo from Puglia (some of which have been partially dried, adding a raisiny character to the wine), Nero d’Avola from Sicily and Merlot from the cooler Veneto region.
The result is rich and warm with dark cherry and fig flavours.
Team with meaty pasta dishes.

This wine can be drunk now but will further improve if carefully stored for up to 2 years
Olly Smith - Live (The Mail on Sunday) 05/02/2012“Cinema grub is generally on the meaty light side, from popcorn to nachos and hot dogs. But if you’re going gourmet with a range of flavours, try Piccini Memoro NV from Tesco....., which is blended from red grapes from all corners of Italy. Rich, fruity and fun to pair with the latest blockbuster or a timeless classic.”
Memŏro was an interesting challenge for Piccini: to create a wine that would not only taste unmistakably Italian, but would feel Italian. The resulting wine is the fruit of much research and experimentation, testing and blending from all over Italy.
Antonella Conti
We chose a compass for our label to represent “Italy in a bottle” – combining four different grape varietals, each offering the typical expression of a distinct Italian region: Veneto, Abruzzo, Puglia and Sicily. What could be more appropriate for the new Vino d’Italia classification? Memŏro truly emerged as a cuvee wine, a blend of not only different grapes of different origins in Italy, but also of different vintages: the 12 months oaked casked Montepulciano from Abruzzo, the solar Nero d’Avola from Sicily, the colder climate (Veneto ) merlot and the Primitivo wine from Puglia.
