Welcome to Tesco Wine by the case.
We hope you enjoy your visit.
It is very youthful with nuances of blackberry, dark chocolate and sweet spice on the nose.
The background has plenty of lavender and rose.
This wine can be drunk now but will further improve if carefully stored for up to 10 + years
Nederburg was founded in 1791 by Phillipus Wolvaart. In 1937, Johann Graue took over and established Nederburg as the leading producer of quality South African wines. In 1956, Günther Brözel became winemaker and was the 1st South African winner of the International Wine & Spirits Competition Winemaker of the Year Award. His talent contributed to Nederburg claiming more awards than any other South African wine producer. Today Nederburgs’ tradition continues in the safe hands of cellar master Razvan Macici.
Nederburg is from the district of Paarl, which is just north of Stellenbosch in the Coastal Region. The Coastal Region is South Africa’s heartland of the production of fine wines. The climate is Mediterranean in character and well suited for wine production of wine with influences of almost constant sunshine and the cooling effect of the Benguela current. The unirrigated soils of Nederburgs’ vineyards in Paarl are of granite and sandstone, which provide excellent, well draining terrain.
