The Gallo winery was founded in 1933 by brothers Ernest & Julio. The 3rd generation has developed the winery's portfolio into one of the most awarded worldwide; preserving the same values and small-winery philosophy their grandfathers started with.

A present

Fortunately I was given this bottle of wine, was need some for the kitchen, bottle was close at hand so a glass of it went into the stew pot. I drank the rest of the bottle watching a movie. Innocuous wine, nothing to write about unless you want something that easy to drink and wholly superficial in taste. Today more and more of the wines available taste much of a muchness and the prices do not in anyway reflect quality. Seems that grapes are grown wherever bought in by "wine factories! and turned into mundane plonk. In Italy you can buy better for £1.50 a litre from a hole in wall wine merchant selling locally produced wines, ditto as you can in France.

This review is for the 2010 vintage

This full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with a hint of oak has rich layers of red fruit, vanilla, mocha, chocolate and spice. Spot on Tesco I echo every word a Cabernet Sauvignon that has so many hidden hints of exotic flavours that come into play as you drink each sip finds you pondering on expression a must for the wine and cheese tasting, make sure the cheese is as sophisticated as the wine excellent conversation wine for the beginner and a delete for the more discerning experienced wine lover another Tesco winner.

Basicaly this was useless service,we ordered 2 cases none delivered, then had a call from store leaving a message saying they had not received it so could not deliver.we then phoned head office who said they did not have any even though it had been paid for so finaly we got our money back but no wine. Are you now able to offer the wine at the same price? Stephen Lucking

A smooth soft easy drinking wine with a hint of cherry, pepper, oak and a little hint of tannin to pucker the lips. Lovely....... and at an affordable price.

Yes, truly a glass of fruit, especially cherries. A wine to be savoured and drank at leisure, certainly not one to be rushed. It is a favourite of mine and all the better when it's discounted
