A rich flavoured, full bodied wine made form Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes, giving cherry and raspberry fruit flavours combining with gentle spicy notes gained from the long maturation period in barrel

Delicious now, this wine will improve for a further two years from the date of purchase if cellared correctly.
Grandes Vinos y Vinedos was set up as a company in 1997. It emerged from the need that several Cooperatives from the region had to find a common way to market the wines they produced. They own over 5000 hectares of vineyards & over 12.000 barrels (American & French).
Marcelo Morales Calderon
Aragon can proudly claim to be one of Spain's most famous traditional wine-producing lands. It has more recently developed a reputation for producing some of the best value wines in Europe, based on the Tempranillo and Garnacha grape varieties.

I'm not a wine expert by any means. I purchased the 2005 vintage thinking it would be as good as the reviews for the 2004. How wrong I was, It was practically undrinkable. I gave a bottle to a friend of mine to try. she does know about wine and she actually thought there was something wrong with it, I suggested it may be corked. She didnt think it was. Anyway to sum up.. never again!

A very acceptable wine with food, quite mellow with no roughness. At 12.5 %, you can have that extra glass!

Advertised as the 2004 vintage, I bought a case on the basis of the great reviews it received. Got the 2005 so not best pleased straight away. Not being a true wine buff though I pressed on. It's ok, no great depth and lacks that rich, oaky sweetness you get with great Riojas - where were the cherries and raspberries? Wouldn't buy it again but ok for glugging at parties if you need a cheap red. Overall I was disappointed.

This wine was better than I expected. It has a lovely, smooth Rioja taste, full bodied without any harsh undertones. Terribly drinkable!

Lovely oaky vanilla tones on the nose which are continued in the mouth. Deep, mellow fruit with a lingering finish.

This is a wine which my guests and I have often had. It has been our house red for some time. Strong, well balanced, keeps well, consistent quality. Recommended.

I am always wary about writing reviews for such a good wine in case everyone discovers it and either the price goes up or availability goes down. Grab some while it is still on offer.

I found the wine drinkable but it did not have the depth of others from this area. My wife however was a fan judging it light and fruity. The price was good value but I would not pay more than 5.99 in future.

Now onto the 2005 vintage this wine, although not as good as the the stellar 2004, is still great value when on offer.....not as big or bold as other Gran Reserva's but very good with food none the less. It is dark red in the glass with typical wood spice, decent aromas of dark fruit with a nice touch of acidity in the mouth. I'd say only buy in good years when on offer!

First tried the 2003 vintage 2 years ago and really like the wine. Easy drinking with an elegant finish, Gran Reserva adding complexity to it and maturity. Tempranillo & Carinena grapes are at their best, with a finish product very different from a rioja, I really recommend this wine to any lover of Spanish wine. MG.

Will absolutely buy again - went down exceptionally well at a dinner party and appreciated by friends when taken as gifts. Even better when on offer - will stock up if i see it on offer again.

I enjoyed this, think I expected a bit more from it based on the vintage. It needs quite a long breathe, but on the whole nice but not brilliant

My wife is the main beneficary of this wine. She thinks it is very acceptable but just slightly behind Berberana or San Lorenzo in standings

Well labelled and well worth the purchase. Delightful friend of Pasta aiding the fullness and variety in the dish. Unhesitatingly pour again with and recommend to friends.
