This wine is much better with food, as still a young (green label) Rioja. Great Value

A wine which my wife and i differed on rating. We've jointly rated as a 3 as my wife would have given in a 2 and i would have given it a 4. It is described well except that there is an influence tasting of Port probably due to the type of barrels used to age this vintage. I felt the Port influence was noticeable and added a different warmth to the wine. My wife however felt the influence was too strong. I guess it's a metter of taste. We agree on most wines, but not this one.

I have been drinking this wine abroad for sometime and always enjoyed it. I even found it as the house wine in a very good hotel in Tenerife , so was delighted to be able to get it here. I've given it as gifts and all recipients- some are very discerning wine buffs - really enjoyed it and bought their own, so it must be good. I agree with 'honeybee' - it is a great wine and well worth a try.

A great wine - exactly as described, summer berries with a hint of vanilla and chocolate. The previous reviewer must have got a bad one and should have taken it back.

This review is for the 2010 vintage
This was the most disappointing bottle of Rioja I have had in many years. It was bought for me as a birthday present and it was sharp and vinegary. I wondered if it would improve if left for a while but it did not. I would never have recognised it as a Rioja. If the friend who bought it for me knew how I felt about it she would be devastated.
