The sauvignon blanc harvest commenced on March 24th under very settled autumn conditions. The first fruit was picked from the stonier, warmer blocks around the winery. Harvesting continued steadily during the month through the progressively later ripening sites, with the last fruit coming in on April 18th. Strict yield management paid off with classic Marlborough flavours and fresh acid levels attained in all blocks.
Free draining, stony soils typify the Rapaura and Renwick areas whilst Fairhall and Brancott are predominantly aged alluvial loams containing some clay. The majority of fruit was grown on a vertical shoot positioned (VSP) trellis with three canes laid down. In 2011, average sauvignon blanc yields were 10 tonnes/hectare.

Just as wonderful as I remember. A tremendous wine again from Cloudy Bay. Such complex flavours. Love it! I love Nobilo but this is a step up, wish I could afford to drink it more often!

Pricey but absolutely fantastic. Tesco sells cheaper than Wine merchant. Go on spoil yourself, you will not be sorry. I hope you enjoy this as much as we do.

This is a wonderful wine, to my mind one of the best Sauvignon blancs that I have tasted. I am a avid fan of this wine, and have been for a number of years. A really good price from Tesco.
