The Wine Gang - thewinegang.com 01/01/2013Good to see a screwcap on a French wine, in this case the Cave de Turckheim's deliciously floral scented Riesling with its lively fresh, zesty lime-citrusy fruit quality linked to a dry finish that makes it the ideal match for R in the month shellfish and seafood.
David Williams - The Observer Magazine 13/01/2013Of the 2011 vintage, David Williams said: "Alsace is fast becoming my favourite white wine region: during a visit last year I was bowled over by the quality on offer. It doesn't offer much in the bargain basement, but in the £8-£15 bracket it's hard to beat. This perky riesling was made for Tesco by the well-run co-operative Cave de Turkheim and it's a great introduction to the area: intensely aromatic with white flowers and lime zest and real zing and zip on the palate."
Jamie Goode - S Magazine, Sunday Express 20/01/2013Of the 2011 vintage, Jamie Goode said: "Alsace is one of my favourite wine regions and Riesling is one of my favourite grapes, so this is a marriage made in heaven. It's a lively, fresh white with pure, lemony fruit and good acidity. Just a tiny trace of sweetness rounds off the flavours nicely."

Kuehn was founded in 1675 by the Baron de Schiele, vine grower & wine merchant. During World War 2 the town of Ammerschwihr was almost completely destroyed. The only structures left were the deep cellars which refuge village inhabitants.

The villages of Alsace lie in a narrow band at the foot of the Vosges Mountains. Low rainfall & long dry autumns allow Alsace to produce aromatic wines from similar grapes used in German wine.

This wine is very good. It has crisp sharp citrus flavours which compliment seafood and salads perfectly. It follows the tradition of fine Alsace wines. A most palatable wine which I would certainly recommend to white wine lovers and I which would readily buy again.

A lot of my friends, who love Sauvignon think Riesling is sweet, so I made them try this zingy, dry Riesling from Alsace full of lovely ripe apple & lemon & lime fruit. All were amazed & converted to the joy of DRY Riesling.
