New World Rieslings are usually drier than their European counterparts-This refreshing Australian is delightfully crisp and dry with lashings of tongue-tingling lemon-and-lime zing and all the juicy quality you’d expect.

This wine can be enjoyed now or carefully stored for up to 5 years from purchase.
Jamie Goode - S Magazine (Sunday Express) 08/01/2012Riesling is loved by the wine trade but often ignored by consumers. Here's a great one from Oz, with just a hint of sweetness backing up the elegant citrussy fruit.
Jane MacQuitty - The Times 14/01/2012Top of my list of vibrant, floral, zesty, citrus and white currant-stashed whites is the aptly named 2010 Tesco Finest Tingleup Riesling .... from Howard Park in Western Australia. With only 11 per cent alcohol, this racy, off-dry Aussie white bursts with fruit and is the perfect bottle to crack open with a punchy winter salad or stir fry.
Founded in 1986, Howard Park has spent the last two decades cementing its position as one of Western Australia's leading wine producers. Owners Jeff & Amy Burch are firm believers in the cool coastal climate for producing outstanding wines.

Large in geographical area and varied in landscape, the Great Southern region stretches 150kms inland from the coast and 100kms wide from East to West. The wineries are dotted amid the wild coastline and large national parks.

The best Australian Riesling I have tasted, very dry and full of citrus flavours

Aromatically it smelt clean and citrusy with a pronounced minerality, no hint of petrol or oilyness, not initially anyway, this really was bright and vibrant. Taste – Beautifully dry, Citrusy, acidic and refreshing, probably one of the better spice quenchers I’ve tasted, it just seemed to compliment heat of the chillies brilliantly. Tasted like someone dropped a couple of smooth pebbles straight off the beach into the glass it was so minerally. As the glass warmed up there was a hint of oilyness but only a hint.

Australia has only recently started plantings of this German grapevine and this is a stunning example at a reasonable price. It comes from Western Australia which has very much sunshine & high temperatures but Howard Park Wines has managed to extract the max fruit and acid balance, presumably by constant checking of grape sugar levels, picking at night and cold fermentation in stainless steel. The nose is lemony, no petrol aromas; the taste is dry citrus & floral. Great fruit/acidity balance with along finish. Marvellous, 6 bottles nearly already gone from my cellar!

The Tesco description is very accurate - this wine is refreshingly acidic and dry. I think it is better with food than as an aperitif. I would buy this wine again.

I have had this with Curry and Chilli and it was excellent. It just brought the full flavors from both dishes. I can see why it was awarded the Gold medal.
