Great combination of brambles and blackcurrants with a touch of spice.

This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 1 year
Viña Concha y Toro was established in 1883 by Don Melchor de Concha y Toro. A successful businessman, he regularly travelled to Europe. From there, he took vine cuttings from vineyards in Bordeaux and brought them back to his estate in the Maipo Valley, where he planted them. The rest, as they say, is history.

Four important geographic bodies surround the Chilean wine growing region: the Andes Mountains to the east, the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Atacama Desert, the driest on earth, to the north and ancient glaciers to the south. These natural barriers essentially isolate Chile and for centuries have protected the vineyards. Other determining factors, such as abundant luminosity, significant daily temperature variation, dry weather during ripening season and fresh Andean irrigation water contribute to the production of pure and wholesome grapes.

I bought this wine to trial it, had tried some of the other wines in the 'simply' range so thought I'd give it a go. Was very pleased with it.( I usually drink Shiraz). Easy drinking, nice flavour, with none of the unpleasant after taste associated with less expensive wines. Will certainly buy it again.

The fact that I have bought it before and on seeing it on offer again promptly added two cases to my order says it all.

As you might understand from the title, my wife and I choose this as an `anytime` red. We are used to French provincial wines, Vin de Pays or un-named Rhone wines and this is very reminiscent of that style; welcoming depth of flavour but unassuming in style. Buy plenty as it seems to disappear alarmingly quickly.

I was nicely suprised at the 'Simply Range', what good value and really good wines and this is one of them. Quite a light red and you can taste the Brambles and Blackcurrants with a nice finish. I would definately recommend this as an easy drinking Wine. I think this would be a perfect accompaiment to Christmas Lunch.
