Victoria Moore - Telegraph Weekend 16/03/2013Of the 2012 vintage, Victoria Moore said: “Unusual white blend of gros manseng and sauvignon blanc. Talk about zippy. Sooooo fresh. Glossy surface, reminiscent of the inside of sunflower seeds, with thrilling edges like tinned grapefruit and something more lemon-light and zesty underneath. Came out of the fridge 10th and was the first to make me smile.”
Olly Smith - Event Magazine, Mail on Sunday 21/04/2013Of the 2012 vintage, Olly Smith said: "Wine-maker Pascal Poussevin has conjured this blend of Gros Manseng and Sauvignon Blanc."
The 25 year old vineyards of Gros Manseng and Sauvignon blanc are situated in the heart of Gascony. Hand selected especially for Tesco, the grapes issued from the best parcels were vinified separately in order to keep as much terroir characteristics as possible. Modern winemaking technics and blending were supervised by leading Bordeaux winemaker Pascal Poussevin.

This is the second time I have bought this wine, easy to drink and goes many different meals or on its own. Lovely would highly recommend this.

I normally purchase this wine as part of £10 finest meal deal. It is a real steal as along with most of Tescos range of Finest wines it offers excellent value for money. They are normally a few pounds cheaper than the equivalent " brand names " but just as good.

The addition of the Gros Manseng grape made this quite a perfumed white wine - not dissimilar from Gewurztraminer. Lovely served very cold with fish or just to quaff on its own. A bit of a girly wine :) but certainly not sweet. Not so acidic as some pure Sauvignon Blancs.

With the Gros Manseng grape together with Sauvignon Blanc this Cotes de Gascogne has much to commend it with some great character. It is a fresh alternative to a straight Sauvignon Blanc but at over £7 a bottle it is more expensive than many.

It is as described by Tesco crisp and citrusy. This is the wine I buy regularly for drinking in the evening. Well-chilled it is a good wine.

this wine was truly a great buy. Was a bit unsure when I ordered but was pleasantly surprise when we sampled the first bottle. As good as some of the New Zealand Sauvignons and a reasonable price.

Gros Manseng eh?...what's that all about? A new one on me! Anyway it was pretty good. I mean, I've had better French Sauvignon Blancs but paid a load more money for them. I was going to say I couldn't quite put my finger on it, softer than expected but still gooseberries on the nose, maybe the said G-M took away the typical edginess on the palate of, for instance, a single variety Sauvignon Blanc from Touraine, that I personally appreciate more. So maybe drink with lighter fish dishes. I tried my first bottle with sardines but I'm thinking truite rosé or scallops would have been far more appropriate. My own miscalculation there then but for now it can only be 3*. But it's still very enjoyable and well recommended.

Not too complicated, this delightfully tasting wine is compliamented by the fruit flavours, which do not ruin its body or crisp dryness. A delight with fish or chicken and we also find it good to accompany shellfish salads. Bought when on offer and will buy again if on offer.

Really nice tasting bottle of wine. Tastes like a Sauvignon but not as sharp. Lovely to drink on its own or with food. Buy it every week now.

A great wine either with food or on its own. All the characteristics of a sauvignon blanc without being too flowery. The description provided by Tescos sums this wine up perfectly 'crisp .. and full of citrusy fruit flavours'.

I saw this on special offer and, as Sauvignon Blanc is our dry white of choice, gave it a go. After tasting, I immediately ordered two more cases. Pale, very dry with crisp fruit flavours, this is good quality French Sauvignon at a really great price.

A fine example of the wonderful wine that is Sauvignon Blanc. This French wine from Tesco embodies everything that is great about this grape. This wine can hold its own among the true Sauvignon classics such as Villa Maria from the Marlborough region of New Zealand.

It's the first time we've tried this French Sauvignon Blanc and we were very impressed! It suited our taste buds very well. We shall definitely be trying it again. It was a bargain at the offer price of £5!

Flavoursome - loads of fruit especially lychee - and dry but not too dry. Excellent with spiced fish and white meat Asian dishes e.g. Thai, Indonesian, Sri Lankan, but also very good on its own and as an aperitif. Totally enjoyable

We have been buying this wine in copious quantities for a couple of years and we love it more every time. A great balance of being citrusy and grassy but with a lingering dry finish. Superb with or without food. Full flavoured and really delicious. For us this wine has the pleasent citrusy, grassy flavour of a Pinot Grigio, the dryness of a Chablis or Muscadet and the lingering finish of a Sauvignon Blanc - Perfection in a bottle!

This is a clean, fresh, fruity and flavoursome blend with the Gros Manseng offering another, slightly herbal dimension to the grassy, lemony Sauvignon Blanc. Lovely as an aperitif, with sea food, chicken or any mildly savoury dishes.

Used to drink a lot of wine from this region but this was different. The initial flavour was much deeper than I expected but nevertheless it went well with the food. Found it moreish and would buy it again if the price is right.

Looking for something less acid or softer than a Sauvignon Blanc ? This wine offers the serious drinker or novice a chance to try something different without leaving the "comfort" of a normal Sauv Blanc. It very much GROS on you.

Just right for fish or chicken dishes which are stronger flavoured or served with a herby or cheesy sauce. Nice "bite " to this wine without loss of taste and certainly without overpowering the food it is intended to accompany. Top marks !

This will easily rival some of the best NZ Sauvignon Blancs (my favourite is Cloudy Bay) but for a fraction of the cost. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
