A rich, opulent wine with hints of black cherries, blueberries, vanilla and allspice.

This wine can be drunk now but will further improve if carefully stored for up to 2 years
Fratelli Martini was founded in 1947 in the Langhe area. In the 70’s the company underwent substantial technological and production development, always focusing and developing indigenous Italian grape varieties. Today 85% of production is exported.
Massimo Marasso
Barbera is grown in abundance across Northwest Italy. It is one of Italy's greatest grape varieties and it truly shines in the hills around Asti, where this wine is crafted, and is capable of challenging some of Piemonte's better reds.

Began buying this wine around the beginning of 2013 and was really impressed by the quality of the wine at the price. However, recently ordered 12 bottles online and we have found some bottles not so consistent amongst the same case. Notwithstanding, those that are consistent provide a rich and deliciousl great quality wine for the price.

We have purchased this wine time and time again. It goes down well with all types of cuisine. It's smooth and tastes great. Highly recommend it.

When it's on offer , this makes a brilliant house red. Medium bodied , not too dry or fruity. Nobody will be offended by this little number. The five stars is only given taking into account the price. It's not a brilliant wine. It is a brilliant wine for a fiver.

We enjoy a variety of red wine, and for 'ordinary' drinking, I look for good value. This is not only good value, but very versatile, accompanying red meats, pasta and nibbles!

Lots of body and plenty of fruit with a distinct spiciness which adds interest and a different note.

We were put onto this wine as a cheaper alternative to Amerone della Valpoiicella. Not quite as gutsy as the Amarone but a very good wine at the price, especially when you buy it with "double up" points. Mellow, full-bodied, lovely wine..
