A fine, crisp and elegant quality with a delicate mousse, hints of citrus aromas and a creamy texture.

This wine can be drunk now but will further improve if carefully stored for up to 2 years
Jamie Goode - S Magazine (Sunday Express) 18/11/2012“This award winning fizz (International Wine Challenge Great Value Fizz) is really classy, with lovely apple and citrus fruit flavours and herb and toast notes adding complexity. It’s super value at this price too.”
The Wine Gang - thewinegang.com 01/01/2013This own-label, classic Chardonnay and Pinot Noir blend from Union Champagne in Avize shows a beguiling yeasty/biscuity nose with a lively, fresh textured mousse and undertones of toastiness, grilled nuts and honey behind the vivid fruit flavours. It's a serious Champagne that deserves all the plaudits
Carly Gammage - Saturday Magazine, Daily Express 02/02/2013“Tesco’s Finest Premier Cru Non-Vintage Champagne is a sophisticated sparkler brimming with crisp citrus notes and a creamy finish.”
Rob Buckhaven - Fabulous Magazine, The Sun 10/03/2013"…lemon drizzle cake in a glass."
Jamie Goode - S Magazine, Sunday Express 07/04/2013“Creamy and fresh, this is quite a serious fizz, with lovely breadth and elegance to the lemony fruit. It’s stylish and shows a lot of finesse.”
The producer, Union Champagne in Avize, is the largest owner of premier and grand cru grapes in Champagne, owning some 1200 hectares of vines, thus giving them access to the lion's share of the best quality.
Yannick Collet
The Chardonnay grapes used in this champagne come only from Premier and Grand Cru vineyards near Avize, and the Pinot Noir comes only from the Grand cru villages of Bouzy and Ambonnay.

This just cannot be beaten for value, even at it's full price. I have tried just about every Champagne going and visited the region tasting and this is my house staple. It's light with notes of apple, similar to LP, with good lasting bubbles. Stock up when it's on a deal, sit back, and relax...

Having scanned the net for reviews on several champagnes I was still apprehensive when ordering this for our Anniversary celebrations. Our fears were soon allayed when we opened a bottle prior to the celebration to taste. My husband and daughter both agreed this was exceptional value for a really tasty champagne. Tesco were brilliant with the service provided, giving a good rate on an already good rate, and offering the service of returning the whole lot if we did try it and found it not to our liking. Everyone attending the event commented on the how nice the champagne was, even those who do not 'like' champagne. Fortunately we ordered more than we used at the event so will be able to enjoy at our leisure. It says it keeps for up to two years after purchase but doubt we will need to worry about the' use by date'. Thanks Tesco, and all delivered to the door.

This is a beautifully crisp but not too dry champagne which is preferable to many far more expensive vintages available. Goes well as a pre dinner or celebratroy drink to share (or enjoy yourselves!) highly reccomend

I recently took advantage of the offer on Tesco Finest Premier Cru Champagne Brut and whilst it was good value at £12 a bottle, I find it is too sweet for my palate.

I've been buying this champagne for over 10 years. It is by far the best quality and value anywhere. Even spending twice as much on other brands they are not anywhere this quality.

Have ordered this as my standard champagne for two years and served it at parties, dinner as well as a quiet glass at home. It is excellent and described by one knowledgeable guest as "ambrosial". Lovely colour with a rounded, mellow taste. A truely worthwhile buy especially at offer prices.

I read some great reviews on this Champagne a bought a couple of bottles. Despite the Finest tag, I would rate this an ok Champagne but nothing to get excited about. I would spend the extra and opt for British Chapel Down (fabulous stuff) or go for a quality New World sparkler.

The other comments say it all because the only other Champagne under £50 that could improve on this would be the Lanson Gold Label 1999/2002 at £40+

I must say, I am rather a demanding champagne lover. I usually go for the best, when I ever could. Tesco's offers are notoriously tempting, so I tend to go with the offers of the 'veuve' and the middle range brews. This time, giving the fact that Christmas was a hard call, I tempted Tesco finest. Oh boy, the colour, the bubbles and the smell brought spring and much precious sunny childhood memories in The Riviera, to my all winter bleak Oxford kitchen. The taste did not disappoint neither. In the contrary. The bubbles go straight to your ears, whispering some sweet nothing. After a few flutes, you come to earth, worried, only for an iota of a life time, as you remember that you did not spend the last penny of your papa's inheritance. It is such an amazing price. And its unbeatable offer. Enjoy...but, keep it between us :)

This is quite simply the best value for money champagne on the market. It also tastes lovely and is as good if not better than any other champagne out there for £35 and under!! Love it.

Decent fizz at a sensible price bought by the highly rated TESCO wine buyers. Balanced and not too acid. I think another few months in the bottle will make it even better but very good now....

I am not really a champagne buff and often think that champagne is overrated. Tesco Finest Premier Cru Champagne is excellent and my friends and family agree. I have tried many other bubbly wines but for price/performance this one comes out tops.

Acidic. I could not detect "a delicate mouse or creamy flavour" as described on bottle. It would appear my party guests were of same opinion judging by the quantity of champagne left in glasses. A good quality Prosecco is far superior to this champagne.

Tesco Finest Premier Cru Champagne Brut is my absolute favourite celebration tipple. I now prefer it to many of the other popular and more expensive champagnes. Finding it for sale online by the case with a good discount just before Christmas was like an early Christmas present. Please try it - you won't be disappointed.

Special events need a special drink to celebrate them, this Premier Cru is my current favourite way to start a celebration. Not only does it taste great it always hits the spot and relaxes everyone who joins in the celebration. I've noticed recently that articles in the press rating various alternative champagnes have started leaving this one out as it is usually the top rated one and the rest must be very frustrated. Great value.

After reading the reviews here and the Tesco Hype I had high expectations of this Champagne, being a regular drinker of Champagne I can say this "tesco finest premier cru" has a rather unpleasant after taste that ruins the initial flavours. Before you got out and buy a case try a bottle first.

A champagne with two out of the three usual grape varieties, it has the more elegant grapes of pinot noir and chardonnay and is a great value lighter style. It does not have the brioche style of Bollinger but if that is not to your liking then this is a more easily approachable style.

For my palette this is a well balanced Champagne with a flavour comparable with much more expensive better known brands. The pinot noir in the grape mix gives this a hint of biscuity dryness. Value for money and very drinkable.
