Tasting Notes

This medal winning wine is produced exclusively for Tesco at the award-winning Sacred Hill winery.

This fragrant red wine may surprise traditionalists as it’s actually the perfect accompaniment to meaty fish such as salmon and tuna-It’s smooth and supple, with red cherry flavours that are a good foil to the juicy taste of the fish-I like it even better when it’s slightly chilled – go on, give it a go!

Storage Instructions

This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 3 years

Expert Opinion

In the press...

Of the 2011 vintage, Helen McGinn said: "“This grape is responsible for some of the most expensive wines in the world. It also has diva-like tendencies, the grape doesn’t like to be too cold, too hot, or too productive. So in a difficult year, Pinot Noir can be a heartbreaker for producers. But when it works, it is just as capable of melting hearts. This one is silky smooth and cherry-kissed (apologies for sounding like a Mills and Boon).”"

Helen McGinn - Femail, Daily Mail 21/02/2013

Of the 2011 vintage, Jane MacQuitty said: “…scoop up Tesco’s splendid 2011 Finest Central Otago Pinot Noir, a plush, juicy, game and blackcurrant styled crimson mouthful.”

Jane MacQuitty - The Times 27/04/2013

Of the 2011 vintage, Susy Atkins said: “Made by the Sacred Hill winery, this is a seductive pinot, smooth and ripe with rounded plum and black cherry. Good-value compared with many NZ pinot noirs, match with duck.”

Susy Atkins - Stella, Sunday Telegraph 28/04/2013
