You can usually relie on a Merlot, but this was particularly well balanced and drinkable.

Good honest, substantial Merlot with some body. Plenty of pleasurable fruits.

This merlot has never disappointed. It is excellent value and holds up well against other more expensive wines. It is soft to the palate, yet with full fruit flavours. It drinks very well with any red meat and particularly a beef stew. It is delicious.

Very good value for a simple table wine and goes well with food as well as being smooth enough to drink with nibbles. .

For a good table wine that drinks more expensively than it is, good choice

I met this wine at a party and enjoyed it.Drinking at home it is not very special .At £9.00 a bottle I think one could do much better, but at the 50% off price it is worth tucking a few bottles away. Open for a couple of hours before drinking .

This is an easily drinkable red. Not too heavy, smooth and fruity. I would definitely recommend

I'm a fan of Merlot but this wine was far too young for my liking.

This wine was sold as offering a substantial reduction, so in theory, not a 'cheapo'. However, whilst inoffensive, there was nothing to indicate any particular qualities, so, whilst adequate, there was a feeling of dissappointment.

This was a very palatable table wine. I am not a wine expert, so I won't go into detail about taste or character etc. I enjoyed this wine and while it is better than some in the price range, it wasn't particularly special.

I've spent 5 years looking for the best VALUE red to drink every evening, and after sampling hundreds of different types from different stores @ the £5 level, this is the one I re order every month. It's a £10 bottle reduced on offer every couple of months to £4.50. I order 4 cases every 6 weeks & get free delivery. It is smooth & warming, and tastes lovely right to the bottom of the bottle, unlike other reds of this price, which are bitter by the end of the bottle. Plummy, fruity, velvety & spicy with a dark, chocolaty background, make it very drinkable. I only hope Tesco keep selling it at this price or I'll be stumped. The Grenache comes close but no cigar !

Wine very smooth and fruity. Really enjoyable drink and easy on the taste buds. Wish I had bought twelve and not six bottles. Will wait for it to be on offer again and stock up.

I bought a case of this wine for an evening function, and I had hardly tasted it before it had all been drunk by guests.

This is a reliably 'safe' wine that is suitable for most occasions be it social drinking or dining - it will not let you down.

An enjoyable, well balanced wine. My partner doesn't like too fruity a wine but he enjoyed this.
