Felix Solis is a long standing family-run winery in Spain, dating back to 1952. Today, four brothers, Felix, Pedro, Juan Antonio and Manuel maintain the quality and reputation of the company throughout the world and remain focused on producing high quality wines which represent Spain. With state of the art wineries in Valdepeñas and La Mancha, two important Spanish wine growing regions, Felix Solis is one of the principal exporters of Spanish wine in the world.
Antolin Gonzalez makes this fruity white wine from the careful selection of Airén grapes. Noted for being incredibly resistant to the intense drought of the Valdepeñas region, Airén is one of Spain’s most planted varieties. Once picked, fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures to concentrate the naturally fresh and fruity flavours of the grapes. To finish, the wine is delicately filtered and the resultant wine is pale lemon yellow in colour, light and fruity on the palate with moderate acidity and good balance.
Valdepeñas is an important wine region in central Spain noted for being a challenging place for growing grapes due to the arid climate. As a result, vines have to be resistant to high temperatures and able to survive without water for long periods. Winemakers need to be skilled and sympathetic in order to extract the fine balance of fruit, acidity and body from the grapes. Felix Solis winery, having undergone significant expansion over recent decades, boasts the largest automated, air-conditioned wine warehouse in Europe, perfect for ensuring the optimum temperatures for extracting the elegant, fruity flavours of Viña Albali Fruity White.

OK for the price and a weekday meal, but not for Sundays or visitors: a bit ordinary for that.

Have been drinking Vina Albali reds for many years. Always found them a very pleasant and well priced drink. I always notice how much of this label is consumed in Spain, so that must be a good sign. Had never tried the white so when I saw it at half price I snapped a case up. I found it to be very good indeed. Spain is not renowned for white wine but this one bucks the trend, Try some , you will be pleasantly surprised.

Having been regular visitors to the Valencian region of Spain and sampling some very good local wines in the past, we have, until now, been unable to find any wine to match the delights found in that region. And then..suddenly..."Via Albali". 100% Airen grape variety, fruity with no lingering aftertaste, and - excepting for the weather - we're back sat on a seafront tapas bar enjoying the best Spain can offer ! Its going to be quite a long winter, but this will keep us going until we can actually be there. Simply the best Spanish wine around !!!
