Hamish Anderson - Daily Telegraph Magazine 16/06/2012Of the 2011 vintage, Hamish Anderson said: “This is a lovely example of Loire Sauvignon: grassy, delicate and moreish, it also has the necessary lift and zest.”
Jane MacQuitty - The Times 21/07/2012Of the 2011 vintage, Jane MacQuitty said: "You may not like the name, but Tesco's upper-echelon, own label selection is improving each year and summer 2012 brought with it a clutch of terrific Finest* European arrivals, including this zingy sauvignon. With all the grass, gooseberry and greengage fruit that any sauvignon fan could ask for, Ackerman's offering is less aggressive than many a tart Loire sauvignon and as such, it is en-route to a gentler Bordeaux sauvignon style."
Jamie Goode - S Magazine (Sunday Express) 29/07/2012Of the 2011 vintage, Jamie Goode said: "The Loire is the original home of Sauvignon Blanc, but recently it's been eclipsed by zippy bottles from New Zealand. Here France fights back with a grassy, fresh white, brimming with lush passionfruit and pear."
Founded in 1811, Ackerman is based in Saumur at the heart of the Loire Valley. It is superbly placed to supply wines from Muscadet, Anjou, Touraine, Vouvray, Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé.

I am not a wine buff but I know what I like. A very drinkable wine - recommended.

I found this wine to be nothing outstanding, but easy and reliable drinking at a good price. It would be great on a warm summer's day to sit sipping in the gardenon nits own or with food. A good aperitif wine.

This is a very good white wine, good enough to take as a gift to a dinner party. It tastes more expensive than it costs.

This is a good example of a French Sauvignon Blanc at a very reasonable price. It is not too acidic as Muscadet can be and of course not as expensive as Pouilly Fume or Sancerre. Execellent value !

Cannot understand why this is a 'Finest' wine. It is lifeless with a mediocre taste. Should be lively and refreshing - it isn't ! Would not buy again - offer or no offer.

Nah, run of the mill mediocrity masquerading as something special - don't be fooled!

didn't like this wine at all, not a typical sauvignon with gooseberry flavours. Wouldn't buy it again

For all of you who think Cloudy Bay is the only good Sauvignon Blanc, you should give this Touraine a try. It's a fraction of the price and is very comparable. No visitor to your humble abode is going to turn this down, unless they're a Liebfraumilch type....
