An award-winning and velvetysmooth Reserva with notes of damson, plum, cherries and spice, refined by a hint of oak- Brilliant with a roast leg of lamb.

From one of the oldest wine producing families in the region, this Rioja Reserva is a dark ruby red with glorious flavours of cherries and red berries, made beautifully mellow from 24 months’ ageing in oak.

I enjoy a variety of red wines, including the likes of Chateau Neuf, Barolo and St Emilion, but they are usually too expensive for regular purchase. This Rioja is excellent - pleasant at the time of sipping and enjoyable for minutes afterwards. The experts say this is a good vintage and prime for consumption right now - I can only say I totally agree.

A Hungarian friend and I shared a bottle of the Faustino to celebrate her move to a womderful new home in London. We were both delighted by its smoothness and flavour - probably helped by being allowed to breathe for an hour or so. I wish I had boiught more while it was still availlable, specially at this stunningly low price. I'd never tasted Faustino wines before but I shall be looking out for them in future. And my friend is now breaking with her usual choice of supermarket wine ranges and is going to turn to Tesco.

I ordered this wine at the same time as Campo Viejo Rioja Reserva. They were similar prices, but we were disaappointed in the Faustino. It is much harsher on the palette than the Campo Viejo, and we did not enjoy our first bottle at all. It is a recognised quality brand of Rioja, but we had never tasted this particular label before. I will not be ordering it again.

Not as heavy as most Riojas but still has the barrel finish which is what Riojas are about. Drunk this wine on it's own without a meal and it is good. Some Riojas benefit from opening an hour or 2 before drinking doesn't seem to make any difference with this wine so there is no need to plan ahead.

From the excellent 2005 vintage this wine never fails to deliver. Great with food but can be happily drunk on its own, giving full flavours of black plums and cherries with hints of strawberry fruit. The oaking is well balanced and integrated giving a warm spicy finish.

Faustino is a well known name in Spain, and always well made wines of quality, but not seen as much as it deserves over here. This 2005 vintage 'Rivero Black Label' is beautifully mature and so full of complex flavours. Although described as Medium bodied is full enough to go very well with Roast Lamb or Beef. SilverMedal winner in 2010, I might even go higher in rating. Still enjoying the last bottle. Will buy another case or two whilst still available.

Quite a nice wine but not as deep bodied as other Rioja's. Nice none the less with a rich bouquet. Very drinkable and nice with cheese, especially Lancashire and Cheshire. Yummy!!

This is a fabulous wine without question and a bargain when on offer. It is my favourite Rioja as it never fails to please. Excellent with spicy dishes or even roasts, it's quite versatile, but it too packs a punch.

Being Faustino, a lot is expected. This vintage strikes a little harsh initially but quickly adapts to the palate. Excellent for dinner and special occasions.

As a Rioja (Reserva) it wasn't bad; very much middle of the road but at the price what would you expect. Not for drinking on its own it is fine to drink with a meal as I found it a little sharp on its own.

I've been snapping up 2004/2005 Rioja for a few years now, getting harder and pricier as time passes (as one might expect) but this Reserva doesn't disappoint. Less variable in quality than some of the supermarkets' mass production items too. Best served in sunlight or just above room temperature to really open the taste buds A well balanced, easy drinking Rioja with a light warming sensation from a hint of spice to accompany the fruit.

Bought this in half price deal for £5.50. Not sure I'd pay £11 for it but it is a great deal at £5.50. HAd it at dinner party and compared favourably against more expensive wines.

I'm no Wine Expert, but I do know what I like. This is a beautiful Wine, as all Faustinos tend to be. It really impressed my Family, especially round the "Sunday Lunch" table. There are no harsh qualities or unpleasant aftertastes to it therefore offering easy pleasant & drinking. I always watch out for the Tesco offers and surprisingly this was one of them. Highly recommended, go for it and I think you'll certainly be rewarded. I could "rabbit" on for ages about this lovely Wine but my enthusiasm would turn the review into a Tome.

I really enjoyed this wine from the minute it was poured. Easy to drink, fruity and not too oaky. I have found some recent riojas a little acidic but this was smooth. Just gutted that its back up to full price!
