Tasting Notes

12 bottle case - 2 of each.

From start to finish, this case has everything you need for great entertaining from Prosecco to a selection of classic white and red wines.

Piccini Prosecco NV, Italy, 11%
Made by one of Italy’s leading winemaking families, this is a medal winning Prosecco from Veneto with fresh, delicate bubbles and gorgeous pear and apple flavours- There’s a lovely floral note to it as well-Simply brilliant served chilled, with cured meats or olives.

Origin Chenin Blanc 2012, South Africa, 12.5%
South Africa is becoming the go-to country for top-quality, great-value Chenin Blanc and this lovely citrus scented white is really superb- Bright and crisp, with green-apple flavours, this is fantastic before dinner or teamed with grilled chicken or simple fish dishes.

Old Renwick Road Sauvignon Blanc 2011, New Zealand, 13%
From the heart of New Zealand’s Marlborough region comes this bright white with delicious gooseberry and citrus flavours- There’s also a classic New World twist of passion fruit- Absolutely perfect with smoked salmon or mackerel pâté.

Viña Albali Gran Reserva Selección Privada 2006, Spain, 13%
Made from bright, juicy Tempranillo grapes grown in Valdepeñas in Spain, this is a great Gran Reserva crammed with blackberries and a hint of spice- Time spent ageing in oak has added wonderfully mellow vanilla flavours too- Perfect with barbecued beef.

DGS The Second Pass Shiraz 2010, Australia, 13.5%
A big, bold red from Australia, called ‘The Second Pass’ because it has been passed over the skins of dried grapes- This adds extra layers of flavour to this black-fruit-laden Shiraz, including blueberries and dark chocolate- Really good with slow-roasted lamb.

Cave Bel Air 2009, France, 13%
One of the leading producers in Bordeaux, Maison Sichel, has created this blend of (mostly) Merlot with some Cabernet Sauvignon- The result is a balanced wine with delicious berry aromas, ripe black-fruit flavours and a hint of coffee and spice-A great match for pulled pork.
