Welcome to Tesco Wine by the case.
We hope you enjoy your visit.
A beautifully mellow Rioja, made from a classic blend of Tempranillo with a bit of Garnacha too.
The result is smooth, ripe and velvet-soft.
Time spent in oak barrels adds gorgeous vanilla and spice flavours too.
One to take to a dinner party, or even better, have at home in front of the fire/telly.
A brilliant match for meatballs.

The house of Lagunilla continues to go from strength to strength, and this latest award winning vintage of their Rioja Reserva shows exactly why. Made in a traditional oaked style from 80% Tempranillo and 20% Garnacha, it has an intense ruby colour, aromas of dark berry fruits and velvety, rounded plummy fruit flavours. Simply superb.
Fiona Beckett - The Guardian Magazine 21/11/2015
Of the 2009 vintage, Fiona Beckett said: "It's also worth bearing in mind that just because a bottle comes from an older vintage doesn't mean it's going to be a better buy. A crianza or reserva Rioja such as Languilla Reserva 2009 is more likely to hit the spot for most family members than a gran reserva costing several pounds more."
Lagunilla is one of the oldest and finest names in Rioja. Don Felipe Lagunilla San Martin founded this Bodega in 1885. The quality of the Lagunilla wines and many others owe much to his pioneering work in defeating Phylloxera which hit the region in the 1870's. It was he who recommended the use and introduction of American rootstocks to the Rioja vineyards.
Known for its consistent quality and range of wines, Lagunilla is at the forefront of modern wine-making technology whilst at the same time mindful of the tradition and history that has made Rioja one of the classic wine regions of the world.
