This Sicilian red wine has bright aromas of wild summer berries.
This mellow wine shows flavours of red fruits and it is soft with a refreshing finish.

Wines made from Sicily’s native vines are surpassing their historical role in the making of simple local wines and use in blends of northern Italy and France, in the pursuit of debuting their character and unique flavors on the international market. This debut is comprised of Sicily’s indigenous varietals (like Nero d’Avola, Nerello Mascalese). The breed of Sicilian wines and their distinct flavors are echoes of both the environment and the diverse cultural legacy of domination specific to Sicily.
Giordano Zinzani
One of Europe's oldest viticultural regions still offers some pleasant surprises. Sicily's oenological history is an ancient one, dating from the time when the island was part of Magna Graecia. Much of Sicily actually lies at a more southerly latitude than Tunisia, and it is the hottest, driest region of Italy.

After we told our friends about this wine, it became hard to find on shelf when on promotion, so we buy it by the case when we run out. Consistently rewarding with pasta and useful as a gift.

This wine was purchased for a friend who loves Italian wine (I'm a French wine drinker) he says it was good value for money

For the price this wine represents excellent value for money. It has a smooth fruity taste and goes very well with meat and pasta dishes.

We like the Sicilian very much in our household as its light berry flavour is not sweet and the alcohol content is low allowing for regular drinking. First class flavour and value V L.

Excellent soft and fruity but not too dry, slides down easily and not too heady! Fantastic value.

Tesco Sicilian Red has gone down hill since ten years ago. It used to be unpretentious; no claims of being a fine wine yet had a very good flavor & light body. After recently living in Italy I have came to appreciate a nice Sicilian Red Unfortunately now Tesco are marketing Tesco Vino Rosso Sicilia which is just one step up from vinegar. Tesco must have changed their supplier and should go back to their old sicilian supplier. PS if Tesco could supply some Sicilian Shiraz wines from the south facing vinyards just under etna it would be greatly appreciated. PPS also a wider range of Barolo wines would be appreciated. ( not Sicilian )

Tesco Sicilian is a light wine that goes well with meat, pasta and even fish dishes. It's a great wine too for simply social drinking. It's my favourite tipple and I can recommend it!

This is what it is. Not the greatest low price wine but not the worst.
