Just as it states, a soft medium-bodied wine with flavours of red berries and a velvety smooth finish. The aroma of berries is very pronounced before tasting, the taste is smooth with a slight dusky feel to it. A brilliant Tempranillo at the price.

a great value wine at this price, not as deceiving as its big brother, the reserva carinena!which seems to creep up on you when you least expect!the tempranillo is dark fruity and a very smooth wine goes well on itself or some spicy tapas, certainly would purchase at this price again..fabulous value....my friend jock went on a diet of the carinena....he lost 3 days....

As fans of tempranillo we found this to be good value. It does exactly as claimed. A good al fresco wine.

This wine is fantastic value at half price and would even be worth the full price. It is full of berry fruits and very smooth - goes well with most food.

So far opened three bottles- well tried too! The cap was not willing to be seperated from the neck sleeve. his made tasting the wine difficult. When I eventually tried some I found it to be a fairly standard wine. I am not yet convinced that I would buy it again let alone pay full price for it.

I have never really been a fan of Rioja, but was directed by a very knowledgable sommelier on a recent cruise towards Tempranillos from different areas of Spain. I was amazed at the differences a few tens of kilometers could make. This was therefore tried as a bit of an experiment and I was pleasantly surprised by the fullness and depth of flavour in this wine. It is equally at home being drunk with food, or on its own. It has a really smooth taste and no hint of any harshness. I was so captivated by this wine that I promptly ordered another dozen bottles. If like me you've tried Rioja and not been impressed, give this a try. You may change your mind about Spanish wines after this.

It is easy to dismiss low cost wines from Europe as 'poor quality' or 'they keep all the good stuff at home'. This wine disproved that commonly held belief. It is full bodied with oodles of fruit and a satisfying finish. I would rather spend my money on a fresh, country wine like this than considerably more on wines which may never open up in the glass due to their so called heritage. Make mine Aguila and please get some more in for my future satisfaction. Mick Bramich ex. wine seller for Odd Bins
