The Margaret River region in Western Australia is cooler than many other regions, so is particularly good for producing subtle, almost Burgundy-like Chardonnay.
With pure lemon fruit, together with a touch of vanilla from time spent in oak barrels, this is a brilliant match for roast chicken with all the trimmings.

Think of Australia and you imagine sunny climes, but there are cooler regions too – specifically on the west coast. The Margaret River champions a cooler-climate style of wine, especially Chardonnay. The result is a wine with elegantly restrained fruit compared to many other Aussie Chardonnays. This one is ripe with white peach and apricot flavours, and gentle spice. Beautifully done.
Margaret River was first planted to vines in 1967, with significant plantings only occurring in the 1970’s. In the 40 years since, it has become one of Australia’s finest regions for producing elegant cool climate Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon wines.
From the world renowned Margaret River region of Western Australia, where a cooler maritime climate ensures the production of fresh and fruity wines. Although the region produces just three percent of total Australian grape production, it produces over 20 percent of Australia's premium wine market.
