Welcome to Tesco Wine by the case.
We hope you enjoy your visit.
Rich in aroma and on the palate, with firm blackberry flavours and a faint touch of liquorice.
Oak ageing has added spice and weight to this wine and the trademark tannins have mellowed beautifully over time.
This wine really does demand food with flavour, so think big. Particularly good with roast beef, roast duck or spicy meat dishes.
Also works brilliantly with spicy sausages, and red meats cooked on the barbecue.
This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 5 years
Made by Domaine d’Idernes, from a small vineyard near the village of Aurions-Idernes. The owners, the Lagrave family, have been making wines from this vineyard for over five generations.
This is from the French appellation of Madiran, situated in the foothills of the Pyrenean mountain range in southwest France. The main grape is Tannat, known for its abundant tannins. This blend also has some Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The vineyard lies on southeast-facing slopes with clay-gravel soils. Relatively mild winters, hot (and sometimes stormy) summers and dry, sunny autumns all help ensure the grapes ripen to perfection.
